Do you look after someone?

Did you know that there are 60,000 unpaid carers like you throughout Worcestershire?  If you look after a family member, friend or neighbour who is physically or mentally ill, disabled, frail or living with addiction, who could not manage without your help, then you are a carer.  Caring for someone can be a stressful and difficult task, but help is available.

Worcestershire Association of Carers is a registered local charity which recognises the vital role played by carers.  We Provide free information, advice and support for carers across the county.  Worcestershire Association of Carers, along with Redditch Carers Careline and Crossroads Care Worcestershire, form the consortium Carers Action Worcestershire.

Carer Support Service – in Wolverley Surgery

A NEW Carer Support Service is currently being introduced in all GP surgers across Worcestershire.  Wolverley Surgery’s new Carer Support Adviser will be available to provide you with one-to-one practical and emotional assistance.  If you would like to speak to the Adviser, please ask any member of the Surgery staff to refer you.  The Carer Support Adviser will give you a range of helpful organisations to ensure that you are fully supported in your caring role.  If you have any questions please telephone 0300 012 4272 or www.worcestershire.gov.uk/carers.
